Hi Ciaran,
You don't say how old you are but based on your track times, even at senior level that would put you in the top 50 athletes in the UK for 400m and top 20 for 800m.
We have an excellent middle distance section led by Andy Bibby and I would suggest you initially get in touch with Andy whose contact details are on the club web site - alternatively when you start at UCLAN come down to Preston Sports Arena, which is run by UCLAN, on a Tuesday night from around 7pm and speak to me.
We have a growing junior (i.e. U20) team fed by athletes moving out of the Young Athletes league team that competes in the UKA YA northern premier league and has finished fifth the last two seasons. We do have a senior team and our ambition as a club is ultimately to build the strength of this through developing athletes from our junior teams and ultimately compete in the British League.
You also need to be aware that if you are a member of a club already in your hometown you will have to resign from them before you can join a new club. Where have you run previously? Outside the UK?

Ciaran, I presume your 1:48.13 performance was from the Trafford AC British Milers Club 800m race last year which you won and as a result gained your entry to European U-23 Championships. Well done! I've not been able to find out how you did as I can't find anywhere where the results - I'd be interested to know. Regards Aidan. Club Welfare Officer

Ciaran, Sorry my mistake it was 2005 not 2006 wasn't it - apologies if you think I'm being over curious but I slipped a disk in my back a few weeks ago and it is waking me up at 4-5am each morning and I've not a lot else better to do with my time. Your times were impressive so you clearly are a very good athlete. Hope your application for UCLAN goes though successfully and once again if you want to come and talk to us down at the track you would be most welcome - we have some excellent middles distance runners training there including our club president Helen Clitheroe. Cheers Aidan.

hello I'm Anna and I'm 1 2years old. I'm thinking about joining your track and field on a Wednesday night but i dint have enough information to know if I'd like to come. i belong to another club (will not say though) and am not willing to give that up. I'm thinking about coming for extra training and sprints as this is not casual at are club. I'm not very fast as i can only run the following : 100m-15.56 200m-I'm not quite sure 400m-86sec 800m-3Min's 14 1500-6Min's 59 as you can see my times are not very fast and i would love to be able to reach some some p.b's. if anyone can tell me about the Wednesday training (e.g the times, where, price , clothing etc.) and if I'd be Abel to come even though am currently at another club then please write back before this coming Wednesday. thanks Anna. ;D
