as a true friend of dani i am not the person who put the reply on as dani fan.We are 2 DIFFERENT PEOPLE.I would have the guts to use my own name not a fake one.Even by using a fake name people can work work out who PRAGMATIST is. This thread was started off to congratulate dani on her winning performance at the international schools and i replied to it as a friend as a way of supporting her. I agree with Pete Benson Paul is doing a fantastic job with her and they work so well together as athlete and coach and i am sure they will continue to do so and go all the way .

In reply to the Pragmatist I would say to you, "Pragmatist you are talking a load of rubbish". If you truly new Danielle you would know that she is the most modest person you could care to meet. As a Team (Mother,Father, Coach,Family and close friends) we support her every endeavour. We never push ,we only support Danielle's high expectations that she herself imposes. Danielle has made a progressive climb through the hurdling world gaining respect and admiratation from Highly regarded Coaches, Athletes and Officials across the UK. This is not because she has an over-inflated view of herself,as you suggest, but because she is single minded, hard working, dedicated, polite and fully commited athlete. She has reached the point where she is today, which is NUMBER 1 IN THE UK, by looking at the World around her and making choices and sacrifices to achieve her goals and dreams. She has a quiet belief that she can ultimately be the best hurdler in the World. Should we, as the Pragmatists suggests say "No you cannot be the Best" "I think not". We need to encourage young peoples' development whatever that may be and praise success. I feel that you ,The Pragmatist ,are typical of many people in this Nation that looks at success with jealousy, bitterness and disdain and while there are people out there that share your views the likes of Eddie the Eagle will gain cult status and admiration for being last. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have given positive comments and to you,The Pragmatist ,and all of you that share his/her bitter, jealous twisted points of view I say "Bah Humbug"

Am i sure I made the right decision? I think i am ;D HAHA i find this truely superb, what a thread! Just let Dani develop without any stupid threads like this, almost predicting the future. No offence to anyone but she is just a kid with a dream at the moment. Forget about the predicting and give it 4/5 years and then we will see what EXACTLY is the potential ability. God knows theres enough pressure on athletes in this country these days, with the tougher Olympic/World Championship qualification standards. Please let her enjoy what she does without all this immature babble. The tough years are still ahead Congratulations to all who competed at the English Schools. It was good too see people yesterday that, like Dani, still hold onto to their dream.

For my sake, Peter Benson WR holder, we need to talk, we haven't shared a phone call in a while now, I lost all my numbers so I don't have any, any chance you could message me a contact number over?
Cheers

Well done Dani, you keep the faith and more good things will come. We are all very proud of your achievements and I hope you will be the next Preston Harrier who is a regular member of the GB team. Unbelievable to think someone can think of negative comments to put on this board about a young, dedicated individual, get a grip. Helen

Support, not pressure? Don't read too much into what i'm saying, everyone is guilty on here for doing it, in fact many people worldwide. Asafa Powell lost today, he bottled it, he could not handle the expectation whether self induced or from external factors. He lost, he's clearly the fastest, people when used to winning, not only lose, but lose badly. Something to think about.
