Sharon has won her semi final this morning in the 400m Vet 35 with a time of 60.66, appeared to win it comfortably, almost 2 seconds. A lady from the US won the other semi in 60.79, so it's set up for a good final.
Come on Sharon lets have our second world champ of the games.
Steve Smith due to injury did'nt make the start line for the 800m, but he may have a go in the 3000, not sure when it is.
Not sure what Steve Hallas is doing, could'nt find a result for him so far, so perhaps the 1500's which have not started yet.

Sharon won a silver medal in the 400 in a PB of 58.00, only missing out on Gold by just 500ths of a second!!! Absolutely brilliant especially with this only being her first year of competing!!!!! Unbelievable! Witha Gold medal winner as her coach, I cant see any other colour than gold next time in whatever she competes at! Steve Hallas also ran a superb race in the 3000 with a PB of 9.12 - 10 secs faster than previous best & first Brit too - in 10th place

As you can imagine, Now that Alan is a gold medal winner, he is busy with media work/endorsements of products/sponsorship and the in general, the life that being a celebrity entails and so I have taken on new role as his PA following a training session round Cow Hill! He dictated the following: Thank you to everyone who sent their good wishes (Steve Mort mentioned everyone other than him prior to going) and thank you for all the congratulations- it was good to know that people were following our progress out there. We had an absolutely brilliant time meeting so many people and competing against other countries. I managed to be nearly late for my race, niot being able to find the venue, but due to another mistake of getting the start time wrong, I had 70 mins spare rather than 10 mins as I jogged to the start! (Dont you just love his attention to detail- this wasnt dictated!) However none of this would have been posssible had it not been for the company of Steve and Sharon - they were great company & we hope to take part again in 2 years time with hopefully some others. I would also like to say how proud I am of Sharon - she gave it her all and I know that she can go further.

Yippeee, I'm now back on the internet (its not been working for 3wks!!) I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has followed our success in the World Champs. Alan, Steve and I had an absolutely fantastic time competing in France, it really was an experience of a lifetime and to come away with medals was just the icing on the cake! I would also like to say a huge thank you to Alan, because without his commitment and dedication as my coach, i would not have made the improvements that i have, he has been there every step of the way for me.
