Daz has just recevied his acceptance for next year and is well pleased, not bad for someone who wasn't bothered about even watching me-if I got in. I'm still waiting to hear fingers crossed Claire

Any chance of a club place? Edit: BTW. This is a general question, not a request for myself.

What is the present situation with the Club places? I got knocked back due to the postal strike leaving me late for the good for age entry. When are the lucky ones being notified?
Good Luck to all those who already have a place.

Hi Neil, There's a link on the main page of the website which details the qualification protocol for a club place Steve Here's the details also:- Preston Harriers London Marathon Entries & Qualification Protocol for a Club Place Each UK Athletics affiliated club is guaranteed a number of places dependant upon the number of club members. Preston Harriers usually have 5 guaranteed places to the London Marathon. To apply for a club place, the following principles will be taken into consideration: • Priority will automatically be given to those applicants who have actively contributed to the club within the current year. • The applicant must have been a paid-up member for the 6 months prior to the 1st December, i.e. for 2008, the applicant must have paid 2007 membership by 30th May 2007. • The applicant must have applied for and been refused entry to the London Marathon. Please keep you rejection letter from the London Marathon to back up your claim. • Preference will also be given to those applicants who have not run having had a Harriers club place for London before. • If the number of applicants is greater than the number of allocated club places, then a draw will decide which club members will receive a London Marathon Club place. If none of the applicants for the London Marathon meet all the criteria above, then the rules will be applied as best they can. If you wish to be considered for a Club Place, please contact Alan Appleby. Preston Harriers Management Committee October 2007

LOST FOR WORDS!! Obviously not as I would not be writing this! For those of you who do not as yet know we have not been allocated any club places for next year's London Marathon. The reason given by London Marathon LC is that they have not received our application and no amount of protest, made on our behalf, has made an ounce of difference. Which to say the least is quite annoying! But we are where we are and no amount of wailing or gnashing of teeth is going to make anybody feel any better about it. So going positively forward I have made a number of enquirers at other clubs asking if their allocation has been fully used up and if not to give me a shout. I thought it was worth a go! If anybody else has a contact at any other club why not give it a go. ;D Keep Smiling & remember that we do this FOR FUN!! Regards Neil Mc Donald
