That would be high for me. It's takes a real affort to get my pulse that high. Everyone is different. Another thing is a certain effort cycling or running might not produce the same heart rate. The 220 minus your age formula to determine maximum heart rate isn't all that accurate. I Googled this site which might give you a bit more information. www.howtobefit.com/determine-maximum-heart-rate.htm

LOL ;D ;D well funny, i like the three guys dad dancing ;D i do feel relaxed now and no pressure. i'll run when i've had a pain free week that counts this week out About the video. My wife, Judy, bought me a biography of Elvis Costelglo a couple of weeks ago so I'm currently in "Elvis" mode. ;D After a great deal of research I have finally got ann idea of what "dad dancing" is. I have an image of certain senior member of the club at the IOM Easter Festival presentation about 15-20 years ago. I also found the "Dad's dancing Anthems' double CD. To my great relief I own only two of the selected tracks (in Bold) but I would probably buy a compilation made up of the tracks in italics (he says, shooting himself in the foot). Disc 1 1. tony christie - (is this the way to) amarillo 2. lou bega - mambo no 5 3. the b52's - love shack 4. dj otzi - hey baby 5. steppenwolf - born to be wild 6. survivor - eye of the tiger 7. free - all right now 8. soft cell - tainted love 9. thin lizzy - the boys are back in town 10. dead or alive - you spin me round 11. barry white - my first my last, my everything 12. village people - ymca 13. john travolta - grease megamix 14. lionel ritchie - all night long 15. robert palmer - addicted to love 16. status quo - down down 17. jam - town called malice 18. ottowan - disco 19. the monkees - daydream believer 20. tom jones & mousse t - sex bomb Disc 2 1. elton john - i'm still standing 2. dexy's midnight runners - come on eileen 3. the who - my generation 4. james brown - i got you ( i feel good) 5. carl douglas - kung fu fighting 6. the foundations - build me up buttercup 7. jeff beck - hi ho silver lining 8. the gap band - oops upside your head 9. frankie goes to hollywood - relax 10. the commitments - mustang sally 11. cher - if i could turn back time 12. kool & the gang - celebration 13. stealers wheel - stuck in the middle with you 14. mcfadden & whitehead - ain't no stopping us now 15. cameo - word up 16. damien - time warp 17. madness - house of fun 18. smokie - living next door to alice 19. right said fred - i'm too sexy 20. hot chocolate - you sexy thingNothing by Queen. Makkers: Take it easy on the injury. Do you know what's causing it yet? In the meantime, try and keep up with the cross-training. It's hard work to stay motivated but it does keep you in training mode in that you have to set aside that 30-60 minute block every day/other day.

i'm happy so far.. havn't felt my leg since thurs we went for a 7mile bike ride last week (fast-ish) and have done plenty of the core stuff. fingers cross will try a run next weekend Thursday? 3 days isn't that long but if you haven't felt it that's good. f you're going to try it out next weekend you might consider some of the points below: Try running on grass rather than the road. As long as it's not muddy you should get less stress on the injury. Plan your come-back in easy stages. A warm up, stretch, run a half-mile, stretch, ice, take anti-inflammatories. Take 2 days off running to see if there's a reaction. If not: on the third day - warm up, stretch, run three-quarters of a mile, stretch, ice, take anti-inflammatories. Take 2 days off running to see if there's a reaction. Etc., etc. If you feel anything, STOP and walk back to the car/home. As you build up your mileage think about either running laps somewhere or running on a treadmill. That way, if the injury flares up you don't end up stuck in the middle of nowhere on a freezing, wet day or risk the possibility of further injury by having a long trek back to your starting point. If you're feeling good resist the temptation to add on another mile, then another. Know what I mean? ;D

We call it football here in Portland and a lot of the Timbers fans are quite knowledgeable. A few bars in town show the EPL live and the Fox Soccer Channel is available on a premium subscription. I haven't caved in and bought it yet. Champions League games are shown live on ESPN which comes with a regular cable subscription. They are shown 11:45 am - 1:45 pm local time so I can watch the game before I start work at 2:00.
Portland are in the USL which is the 2nd tier behind MLS (no promotion or relegation) which isn't great but at least we have a team to support. Our nearest rivals Seattle (175 miles) are going MLS in 2009. Our next nearest rivals, Vancouver (300 miles) will probably follow as they have a new stadium on the drawing board. There are advantages. The stadium is all-seater but we can stand. We can also watch the game and drink alcohol. This year they have scheduled 9 out of 15 home games on Thursday and have a Thirsty Thursday promotion where they sell cheap beer. $2 instead of the normal $7, although the cups are smaller. When I was here in 1981 you could buy a 3 pint pitcher in a plastic container and take it in and watch the match.
We are getting slightly off-topic here. Oh well. ;D

300MILE not much away support then. "slightly off-topic" hows the weather?? ;D Currently 28 degrees. Forecast: Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 54F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. This is good because I've volunteered to help out at the finish of a local race this morning.
