Saturday's run turned out a little longer than expected. We have the solstice Mud Grand Prix Run tonight (Monday) in Forest Park and therefore opted for a flat run by the river. The plan was to take the cycle/running paths between the Ross Island and Sellwood bridges and run a loop that would be just over 6 miles. We headed south for a mile or so. Here is a view looking north from the Sellwood Bridge. Crossing to the east bank of the Willamette we pass Oaks Park. I stop to take a photo and Mark takes a break. We head north along the latest section of the Springwater Corridor, then work our way through an industrial area to get to the Ross Island Bridge. Here is a view, again looking north towards Portland with the U.S.S. Blueback moored in the foreground. This submarine featured in The Hunt For Red October. It was after we crossed the Ross Island bridge that the problems started. We clearly remembered a road under the freeway that didn't exist - at least not where we remembered it. After a slight detour, interrupted only by stopping to stroke this cat, we arrived back at the river. More on tonight's race later
