Please would all athletes competing at Blackpool arrive an hour before their events to ensure that they have their numbers in plenty of time. I shall be in the stands from late morning.
Numbers are to be reused for all Mid Lancs League meetings.
Please bring your own safety pins.
Good luck and enjoy!

I see someone had got it right when they talked about the difference between sports hall and Athletic meetings such as the mid-lancs etc. It was great to see all the best athletes in the area on show, to get a measure for the season. What an exiting day!!! Will be hard to continue the success of sports hall with other clubs now fielding their better athletes

Sorry but the vast majority of the best athletes in the area were certainly not at a Mid Lancs meeting unless it suited them to use it as a training event.

Are you actually serious??
Hardly anyone goes to Mid Lancs anymore, and I wouldn't say that any clubs field their stronger teams. In fact, clubs dont even field "teams" as such, people just turn up if they want to.
On another note...so what if the Harriers aren't winning, not everybody wants to win, some do it for fun, especially at sports hall age. If there is no fun then people will drop out, so please give it a rest on the whole "our kids aren't as good as their kids" will you because in all honesty, nobody really cares.
Participation is just as important as performances.

The next mid Lancs fixture is at Hyndburn Saturday 30th May. This is an excellent opportunity for people to record some performances and try to force their way into one of the teams.
There are no stands at Hyndburn so please bring your tents, chairs, blankets, sun cream, waterproofs etc
If you are in the YAL team, please check with your coach before attending this fixture.
Entry is open to all Club members and there is no cost. The same numbers are to be used all season. If you require a number please see me at the track or arrive in plenty of time before your events. Please bring your own safety pins.
You are allowed to enter three events and there are usually no restrictions on choice. This is dependant upon numbers so could I please ask all under 13s & 15s to report to me before competing.

It is looking likely we will be short of our Officials quota for this fixture with many of our regular Officials having a well earned break or at other comps. Without Officials there would be no comps. Please could all parents make themselves available for half an hour or so on the day to assist with the retrieval of throwing implements, pulling a tape through or spiking. Training and guidance will be given and you will then get the best view of that event. Thanks in anticipation.
