Simon Flood and I have entered into the Niagara Falls Marathon on 24th October 2010 which is the only marathon in the world that starts in one country and finishes in another! This will be my first ever marathon! I have only done 2 half marathons to date so am a little nervous about completing the mileage. I will be running in my Preston Harrier vest, however I am planning to customise it; have my name and 'England' put on the back! If anyone can offer any advice on a training plan, food intake preparation etc., this would be most welcomed! I also plan to write about my experience for the club magazine post this event!

Hi Steve,
Due to work commitments I have not been able to get down to the track on Wednesday's which is very frustrating. I am away with work again for the next 2 weeks also)! When I cannot make Wednesday I am thinking of going down to the track on another night (e.g. Friday), to replicate the Wednesday night sesssion. (Simon said he did 7 x 600 with recovery time)
I am running every other day (various distances though) to try and increase my fitness. I haven't been running very fast lately but was very pleased with my run/time on Monday night.
I have entered the rest of the club points races this year and also getting out on Thursdays and Saturdays. Trying to now increase my mileage at the weekends.
Be really grateful if you could put a basic programme together.
Many thanks
Beverly
