I was on Parlick this afternoon and amazed at the fun everyone seemed to be having. I am now decending into the area of over weight and over 50. How can I get into this fell running lark? How fit do you need to get first?

Is there any chance someone could send me a higher resolution pic: DSCF4110_2.JPG - as is on the web site. I might be able to then see the numbers on the guys behind me and therefore confirm I came in 211 not 91st... My number being 395 not 394!
Thanks tim:

Apologies Tim. We did indeed have an error. We realized later, so we switched names on 394 & 395. Pete Carter knows exactly just what happened, he may come back on this one. Meanwhile I'll email a few people & try to solve the problem. Finally, the cameraman was me so indeed I will forward you a higher res picture. Hope you enjoyed the race. It was a great atmosphere.

Message from Claire Kenny. Well done for a well organised event, which seemed to go without any hitches - you can breathe a sigh of relief now! Can you please send the attached flyer round to your club's email list advertising this year's Cuerden Trail runs? We'll try The flyer is now on the website. You can pick it up from the home page.

How fit do you need to get first? Dear Colboy 2006 I was once like you my friend. Over weight & over 50. Now I'm over weight & over 60. Before you contemplate partaking in fell running you ought to meet up with our gang in a real ale pub, buy us all a pint to start with, then we can discuss with you whether or not you are too fit to join us. On a less serious note, it's never too late to start. Our great V70, George Arnold who races every week (his picture is on the Paddy's Pole Race website report) still manages to outdrink most of us.

good evening thanks very much for organising an excellent fell race on sunday, well worth the 400 mile round trip from essex. On the results, I beleive that the runner in 242nd position with a time of 41:48 is John Williams of Springfield Striders. I don't know what number he ran in, but he did say he finished just ahead of Allan greenwood, and I can't see his name anywhere else on the results. thanks very much andrew.

Hi Andrew Well done coming so far! Thanks for the info re 242. I spoke to Mick Mack last night, before I saw your note, he's hoping to have the definative results out very soon. I'll point out this to him anyway.
Cheers
