Just a thanks today to you guys and gals for putting on the race. It was well organised and marshalled. Especially those up on the tops at the controls - I recognised a few faces from the road races etc.
I enjoyed it a lot

Thank you Richard. It was certainly an experience for Alan and I waiting in the mist for the first runners to arrive - we couldn`t see each other, never mind the runners at first. It looked at one point if it was going to clear, then the cloud all rolled in again as the race continued.

Kind of you to comment. If you are Richard Taylor, then you were 46th. Well done. I'll be putting the results on the web later today. There are also lots of pictures, so watch the fell section web site. (www.prestonharriers.com) The road faces you saw must have been Steve Jackson & old Alan Appleby, the two were up there in the mist. You might also have seen our star female road runner, Ann Sweeney, she was at the point where the race moved onto the fell after the long straight uphill road section. Hope you come next year. In addition, the FRA Relay this year is in the same area, organised by Bowland Fell Runners. Hope to see you there.

Fell runners are so different to road runners! At Chipping I was directing the runners up the fell from the gate that they had just come through & most thanked me on their way through, including all the front runners. Although I often thank marshalls after a road race, if I warm down in their direction - I never do during a race - I'm just too selfish/concentrating or something. It really is a very friendly competitive sport, but slightly more social. Anyhow a big well done to everyone running - it was tough, but then fell runners are!
