The Robinson Family would like to put straight several rumors apparently circulating the club.
1) Our son Andrew HAS NOT LEFT Preston Harriers to join Sale Harriers. He has only ever competed in a Harriers or County vest and will continue to do so. He is currently training with the North West Combined Events Squad based at Sport's City along with several other athletes whom represent clubs in the North West . The decision for him to train at Sports City was taken due to the fact that he has the opportunity to train for all aspects of Decathlon on a weekly basis. Something that was unavailable at Preston Harriers for one reason or another.
2) We as a family are not 'boycotting' the Anniversary event in September. We are unable to attend for various reasons. However we do feel that an 'Anniversary Dinner should be as advertised not an elaborate finger buffet.
3) We also believe that it has been rumored that our business Lets Party ' let down the club' on 1st July 2006 by not supplying officials lunches. This was because we were not asked to supply the catering for this event!! Having been told by Club Chairman Pete Hancock that officials lunches where been organized by 'the ladies of the committee'. The first we knew about officials lunches for 1st July was a phone call at 11:30 by Aiden Lupton on 1st July asking where the lunches where. Carole explained that no lunches had been ordered and due to family commitments we where unable to supply any at such short notice. Margaret Collins phoned the following week asking if we could resume supplying officials lunches but we where unable to supply the next meeting and supplied the following two matches.
Lets Party, Chris , Karen, Samantha, Andrew and myself have given time and effort over the past few years to try and help Preston Harriers. Our business has supplied officials lunches, medals and trophies at cut rates to help the club save money. Karen has supplied presentation and celebration discos free of charge, again to help and sponsor Preston Harriers.
We are all very grateful for the help and coaching given by Preston Harriers coaches and officials to Andrew over the years.
However we felt that as a family it was time to put the record straight.
