Congratulations to Rilez (Tom Riley) from Manx Harriers who has been studying at Uclan, and has trained for the past 12 months with Pete, Steve and the sprints group on winning a 100 metre Silver medal (with a PB I think) at the Island Games in Rhodes. Gold went to Rhodes in 10.72 and Rilez took the silver in 10.73. Bermuda claimed bronze in 10.79. He has had a hard few days competing in the Greek temperatures. He ran a heat of the 200m on Sunday evening. Monday saw the semi and the final where he finished 5th. Tuesday he ran the heats of the 4 x 100 and the 4 x 400. Wednesday was a rest day. Today he ran the heats, semi and final of the 100 and tomorrow he has the finals of the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400. Excellent - Well done.

I believe Tom also broke Chris Stobarts Isle of Man 100 metre record. He must have been getting some good coaching at Preston ;D

thanks very much jane much appreciated, had really good week competing was absolutely knackered after it! was all thanks to pete's and steve's training and of course the formidable team pro guys (you know who you are). unfortunately got injuried in the final about 50m into the race, the hamstring cramped i think which unabled me to accelerate through. got the island record fro chris stobart which has been held for a long time so very pleased!!

The guy is truely the best sprinter I have ever trained with. The right attitude on the track towards training and helping out younger members, but carrys his talent with out the big ego!
