Missing from the photo above is Melissa Metcalf who also ran for the under 13's. Sadly we could'nt find her at the time, but well done Melissa.
Well done to all the athletes who competed, those winning medals are as follows (apologies if I missed anyone out)
Individual
Florie McLeish: Under 13 girls County Champion. Richard Morrell: Under 15 boys silver medal Kristian Bibby: Under 15 boys bronze medal Matt Lloyd: Under 17 men bronze medal Philippa Walsh: Senior Ladies bronze medal, silver medal vet lady Mick O Donnell: Senior Mens vet 45 bronze medal
Team
Under 13 girls Gold Medal Under 15 boys Silver medal Under 20 men Silver medal Under 15 girls Bronze medal Senior Ladies Bronze medal
It is also worth noting we had several noteable athletes missing through illness/injury which affected our haul both individually and from a team aspect.
Victors aside, I applaud anyone who took part over the gruelling course, it is a fantastic effort.
It is also worth noting that as far as teams are concerned, although medals are only given out to the first four counters quite often the seventh placed counter may be as important to the team effort as the first counter home.
With that in mind I would especially like to say a big well done to all the under 13 girls who on this occasion did not get a medal. If you continue to show the same spirit and determination in training and in races as you have done all winter, your time will surely come.
So lets get everyone out again on Saturday at Lancaster and make sure we all get a medal at the end of the season in the Mid Lancs League.
