What is the connection between the Chernobyl 10K and the Chernobyl?

It's the charity the organisers are involved with. As far as I know they help pay and organise for children from the area of Chenobyl to come to the UK for a few months - apparently even being away from the areas affected by radiation for a few months significantly decreases the children's chances of getting problems such as cancer.

its true ,a couple of weeks away can help repair their immune system recover by two years..i've been talking to mr and mrs cowell ,they say numbers are down this time due to people not able to afford the travel cost ,hols etc...its only £7 but you get a £5 voucher so really its only £2  there's alot of harriers entered but if you havn't theres still time  come on you know its worth while..these kids need our support for a better chance in life..  |
