Well Done!! I would like to congratulate everyone who took part in the very windy meeting at Sheffield yesterday , you all did fantastic! We certainly had our best performance of the year so far, we are now in 4th place in the league with the aux finals within our grasp Our next YAL meeting is on the 20th July at Wigan, and we need to beat Leeds on the day to make the finals, which will be held at Sports City in Manchester. Once again well done to all, and don't forget to put the 20th July in your diaries, we need our very best possible team out on that day.

Just goes to show what can be done and look forward to another season with 3 Lancs Teams in the top flight.

Cheers Richard, thats very kind of you. You are quite right, we have made the National Auxillary Final on Saturday 6th September at Sports City.
Well done to all the athletes and officials today, it was an unbelievable performance.
I felt at the beginning of the day we would beat Leeds, but not by such an emphatic margin, over 100 points. We almost broke the 500 point mark.
The team looks very strong both in quality and in depth. It speaks volumes for the efforts of the athletes that we are having to leave out some excellent athletes from the team or give athletes who would normally expect 3 events just 1. Even following late pull outs due to injury and illness on Saturday, we were able to bring in athletes not only to fill their events, but to come away with maximum points in the bargain. It's also fantastic to see athletes who were unable to secure a place in the side, still come along to support the team. The atmosphere in the stand was superb and the support to fellow Harriers in itself was worth many points.
I think I speak for everyone when I say, that we go to Sports City not just to make up the numbers but with the intention to come back with a trophy.
Well done again to all.

Big CONGRATULAIONS and thanks to: The team managers - Dave Bugler, Pete Crook & Pete Hancock for all their hard work putting the teams together. The coaches - who prepared the athletes The officials - "there's no show without Punch" the parents and supporters - without whom ... and most of all every single athlete who has competed in YAL this season and assisted in getting Preston Harriers into the national finals for the first time ever. Well done to all.

MATCH RESULT Sale H. Manchester 463 Preston H. 457.5 Leeds City A.C. 330.5 Kingston-on-Hull A.C. 263 Just found the result and I'm gutted for you. Worth scrutinising I would suggest.
You should be in the National final though and you never know what will happen in the last round on the 19th July.
Well done guys on behalf of us here at BBH.

Thanks, Richard. We await the result. I have advised Leeds that there was not a full track judges stand, although apparently all clubs signed people in and have been awarded full officials points. We await the outcome. 1 missing official makes 7 points difference.

Old thread, and deja vu. Once again the Young Athletes Team has made it through to the national finals. We have to wait a couple of days for confirmation whether it is to be the main final or the auxilliary final. Whichever, once again a fantastic team performance on a horrible wet day. Finishing third to Sale and Gateshead with all the advantages they have in terms of facilities is absolutely brilliant. Thanks to everyone who took part, athletes, officials and coaches, as well as the screaming support of the parents! Brilliant!
